Framework opens new accommodation
Over the next year and a half, Framework will open three new, purpose-built developments in Nottingham and Lincoln. These spaces will house 50 people who are homeless with complex needs or former rough sleepers.

Grove House, comprising 15 units for women with complex needs, opens this Spring in Bestwood, Nottingham. A new development on the High Street in Lincoln will open this summer to provide accommodation for 15 homeless women and men. Finally, Lee House in Basford, Nottingham, will open next year to house 20 men with a history of rough sleeping.
Each person will have a whole unit to themselves, giving them vital independence and privacy. The accommodation will provide residents with their own front door, a bedroom with ensuite facilities, a kitchen and dining area, and living space.
The buildings have been designed with psychological and trauma-informed practice in mind, creating the best possible home life for people who have complex needs and experienced rough sleeping.
Communal spaces will include room for activities and treatment as well as private rooms for delivering 1-2-1 support. Each service will have 24-hour staffing with support provided by specialist Support Navigators. At Grove House, we are excited to be developing extensive outdoor facilities including a patio, water feature and, potentially, a wildflower meadow.
Each service is located close to public transport links with access to shops, support agencies and other essential services.
All of this has been made possible by the government’s Single Homelessness Accommodation Programme (SHAP), which has contributed £6 million out of the total cost across the three schemes of £10 million. The funding gap has been filled from Framework’s resources and borrowing, along with a £200,000 contribution to the Basford scheme from Nottingham City Council.
In addition, major donors and other Framework supporters have contributed a magnificent £313,633 to the cost of Grove House, and substantial donations from major and corporate donors will support the Lee House development.
These substantial developments are notable additions to our extensive portfolio of high-quality, purpose-built, self-contained emergency and move-on accommodation which has been a hallmark of Framework’s operation and growth since the charity came into being in 2001.
We are grateful to all of our colleagues and supporters, SHAP, and Nottingham City Council, who have helped make these developments possible. A brighter future is being built for 50 more people in Nottingham and Lincoln: a remarkable achievement, and we can’t wait to see their success.
